Day two saw a few surprises, one-way victories and the cream rise to the crop at the 2013 X-Blades National Touch League at Coffs Harbour.
Sydney Rebels and South Queensland Sharks are the teams to beat in the mixed opens division.
The Rebels lead Pool A and the Sharks are in front in Pool B.
There a host of teams that will be hoping for success in their remaining matches tomorrow as the quarter-finals will be played at 4.45pm.
The Scorpions lead in the senior mixed division on 18 points. Victoria are second, two points behind, with the Rebels and Suns rounding out the top four.
Southern Suns are first in the Men’s T League division. Seven teams are all in contention to make the finals.
In the women’s T League, the Rebels lead Pool A but there is a three-way tie for first spot in Pool B between Sunshine Coast, Hunter Western Hornets and the Sydney Scorpions.
The Scorpions and the Brisbane City Cobras have all but sealed the top two spots in the women’s 27s division.
The Men’s 30s is very tight with six teams vying for top spot. With two matches remaining, tomorrow is going to be a vital day for all six sides.
The ACT Pirates finished first in the women’s 35s with the South West Queensland Swans in second, North Queensland Tropical Cyclones in third, South Australia Heat in fourth and Hornets in fifth.
Pirates will play the winner of the Swans and the Cyclones, while the Heat and the Hornets are in the elimination final.
Defence Warriors look like they have secured a semi-final spot in the men’s 40s. They are the only team undefeated but have the Cobras, Sharks and Cyclones close behind.
Women’s 40s has the Scorpions in front. They have to be careful because the Hornets and the Northern Eagles are close, and if results go against the Sydney side, they might miss out on the final.
The Scorpions finished in first spot in the men’s 45s and have qualified for the qualifying final where they will meet the winner of the Sharks and Hornets match. Pirates and the Warriors meet in the elimination final.
The Southern Suns and Mets are joint leaders in the men’s 50s with two rounds to go. Top spot could come down to the final round where the two teams face-off.
Sunshine Coast Pineapples qualified in first spot for the finals. Scorpions were second, Hornets third, Cyclones fourth and the Suns fifth.
